Timeless Vision, Enduring Legacy
When I started The Raj Company, it wasn’t with a grand business plan or a clear roadmap. It began with a love for furniture. The kind built with patience, honesty, and craftsmanship that’s becoming rare. I spent years collecting antiques, studying their proportions, understanding their history, and restoring them to their previous glory. Those early days taught me that the key to timeless furniture is patience, attention to detail and respect for craftsmanship.
What began as a small passion project grew into something much larger. Designers started coming to me not just for antiques, but for pieces they wished existed. That’s how our custom work was born. We did what felt natural: we combined heritage techniques with contemporary precision, and created pieces that honored both.
Over the decades, I’ve built a team that shares this same passion. Craftspersons who have a generational talent for working with teakwood and rattan. Draftspersons who can translate an idea into a perfectly proportioned drawing. Metalworkers, polishers, weavers, inlay craftsmen — each one contributing a skill honed through years of practice. Together, we create furniture that feels personal, deliberate, and built to last.
Even today, I’m most inspired when a designer walks in with a sketch or a reference image and asks, “Can you make this?” Because the truth is: that challenge is what keeps us alive. Today, this passion is shared by my family. My son, Armaan, and daughter, Imaan, have joined the family business and share the same passion for fine furniture as I do. They come with their unique ideas and expertise. Together, we bring ideas to life.
While we now work with clients who are some of the best designers around the world, the heart of what we do hasn’t changed. We still believe in slow craftsmanship. We still believe in materials that age gracefully. We still believe that the best furniture is created by people who genuinely care about it.
The Raj Company is many things today: a workshop, a studio, a design partner, a conservator of tradition , and a maker of the future. But at its core, it’s still the same passion that drove me from the beginning, a love for honest and well-made fine furniture.

Custom Work, Elevated
Our custom design approach is deeply collaborative, we work directly with interior designers and clients to push boundaries, explore new finishes, and reimagine classic forms. Whether it's a faithful reproduction of a period piece or an innovative new design, our workshop turns imagination into reality.
Rooted in Craft and Heritage
What began as a carefully curated collection of genuine antiques has evolved into a multidisciplinary atelier where restoration, reproduction, and bespoke design converge. In addition to our custom work, our team restores carefully sourced antiques using traditional techniques. We take pride in preserving and encouraging hand-done traditional crafts passed down over generations and supporting our artisans.
For Designers, By Designers
In our design studio, sketches evolve into precise orthographic drawings, finishes are tested and re-tested, proportions are fine-tuned, and materials are pushed to new possibilities. This constant collaboration is what allows us to reimagine classic forms, interpret global design languages, and create pieces that feel contemporary while still grounded in craftsmanship.
Global Reach, Personal Touch
Although our roots are in Mumbai, our impact is global. We ship internationally, and our custom furniture has found homes across continents. The result is a rare balance: global capability paired with the intimacy of a bespoke studio. No matter where a piece is headed, it carries the same intention — thoughtful craftsmanship, considered communication, and a commitment to delivering something that feels made for you.
We Put our Clients First
Our greatest strength has always been the relationships we build.
For us, valuing our clients is the foundation of everything we do. We put this into practice by guaranteeing a prompt 24-48 hour response time via email on working days and providing detailed updates and solutions at every stage of the design journey.
Commercial and Hospitality Expertise
We are proud to have created custom furniture for some of the world’s finest hotels, resorts, restaurants and members clubs. Our approach towards hospitality projects remains just as personal and detail-oriented, but with the scale and durability required for fast-moving commercial environments.
Whether we're working on a house in the Bahamas or a thoroughbred farm in Kentucky, they always find the perfect way to make our vision come to life.
We at Kemble Interiors Inc. consider The Raj Company to be one of our most treasured sources. Most importantly of all they are excellent in assisting us with their knowledge of the requirements to make our designs not only beautiful but functionable.
In my own design business we cannot do a project without these very special pieces from Ricky. They resemble nothing else. They are truly hand carved and created and finished. They are special.

The Art Behind the Artistry
In an age of mass production, we remain devoted to the exceptional. Our master artisans spend weeks perfecting what machines would rush, creating furniture that transcends mere function to become art.
