A Defining Piece for Palm Beach's Most Celebrated Show House

Among the most keenly anticipated events in the American design calendar, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House made its inaugural Palm Beach appearance in 2017, transforming a single property into a room-by-room showcase of the country's most considered interior talent. Amanda Lindroth was among the six local Florida designers selected to participate, contributing a dining room she described as the "Orchid House" — a space she wanted to look, in her own words, as though it had "remained untouched since the glamorous days of Palm Beach in the 1920s." The Raj Company contributed statement pieces to Lindroth's room including a monumental carved cabinet and wall brackets, each made by hand and scaled to anchor a space of considerable ambition. The cabinet in particular carries the kind of presence that show house rooms demand — contributing to the sense of permanence in Lindroth's "Orchid House": the feeling, precisely as she intended, that they had always been there.
