Classic Coastal Interiors at Palm Beach, Florida, Handcrafted in India

In the North End of Palm Beach — among the island's most quietly prestigious addresses, where oceanfront lots are held across generations and the prevailing aesthetic leans toward classic architecture with a spirited, sun-drenched interior life — Ashley Sharpe of Sharpe Development and Design completed a new 5,300-square-foot residence whose interiors reflect what she describes as her deep understanding of "life on the island: classic style, Moorish influence, and a culture of cocktail parties." Trained at Kemble Interiors and featured in House Beautiful and Coastal Living, Sharpe brings to her Palm Beach work a sensibility that is simultaneously rooted and playful — grasscloth and de Gournay, coral and aquamarine, whimsy deployed with a sure hand.

For this project, The Raj Company contributed a selection of coastal and colonial-style furniture developed in collaboration with Sharpe's team: coffee tables, upholstered chairs, and a table whose surface is worked in a hand-carved fish scale motif — an ornamental reference that sits entirely naturally within Palm Beach's long tradition of drawing the sea indoors.The pieces carry the warmth and material honesty that Sharpe's interiors consistently reward.
